This shocking report describes a mass execution of Tigrayan civilians by Ethiopian soldiers who laugh among themselves as they do it. For months the warning signs have been evident and the UN Special Advisor on Genocide Prevention has confirmed that it has received multiple reports of extrajudicial killings, mass executions, sexual violence, looting and impeded humanitarian access. The Daily Telegraph says it has photographs too graphic to publish which show bodies of children and adolescents blown to pieces.
The U.K. is a permanent member of the UN Security Council. It should be demanding an emergency meeting, insisting on access to the Region, and prosecution of those responsible. Failure to act will make it culpable.
